Crawford County Sheriff investigating Vail bank robbery

Vail,Iowa -- The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the robbery of the Westside State Bank in Vail Saturday morning.  Authorities report a white male around five feet eight to five feet nine inches tall, in his 30’s or 40’s with a red goatee entered the bank around 9:10 Saturday morning.  He told a teller he had a Molotov Cocktail or some type of device and would use it if she didn’t hand over the cash.  Authorities say he didn’t use the device and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.  Officials with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department are looking into connections with the recent bank robberies in Sac County.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department at 712-263-2146.
