Iowa Wrestling: Hawkeyes Top Wisconsin, Set National Attendance Record


The University of Iowa wrestling team won nine of 10 bouts to top Wisconsin, 39-3, Sunday afternoon inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Iowa State forward Chelsea Poppens was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season. Poppens posted double-doubles in each of Iowa State's home wins over Oklahoma State and Texas last week.

Hawkeye Aaron White wins weekly conference honor


 Iowa’s Aaron White has been named the Big Ten’s co-freshman of the week. The six-eight forward averaged 13 points and eight rebounds in victories over Minnesota and Penn State.
Iowa coach Fran McCaffery says White’s line of 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists showed the many ways he can impact the game. 

AIB Women Survive a Late Viterbo Rally to Win, 83-75


The AIB women held off a second-half Viterbo rally, and defeated the Hawks, 83-75, Saturday afternoon at the AIB Activities Center.

Turner Hits 29 as Central Men's Basketball Squad Rolls Past Cornell


Guard Demarco Turner (senior, Des Moines, East HS) poured in 29 points as the Central College men’s basketball team outshot Cornell College 83-50 Saturday.
